The Sea Trout bite heats up as our weather continues to cool down! This is my favorite time of year to target Sea Trout on Florida's East Coast in the Indian and Banana River Lagoon systems. 

Sight Fishing

Sight fishing opportunities for upper slot and over slot Sea Trout continues to improve. Large fish can be seen cruising the grass flats and around thick mangrove islands. Sea Trout are very aggressive but smart fish. Using very light line and smaller flies has been key to getting the bite. All black, lightly weighted flies have been very effective. As always anything with chartreuse will make Sea Trout go crazy. There has also been a ton of bait on the flats making the Sea Trout extra fat!
